Summer Trial Schedule
During our summer trial schedule, families who book Indoor Open Play are welcome to visit anytime during the open play window listed on our calendar. On many days, this will be 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, so families can come and go anytime within that window. On certain days, depending on classes, events, parties, or other happenings at River & Root, the session may only run from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. There is no price difference, but your play session is always two hours long (so if you arrive at 10am during a 9am-1pm session, you should plan to head out at 12pm).
Our booking calendar will always have the most up-to-date availability, so you can see which schedule is being offered each day.
Your Indoor Open Play reservation includes access to our indoor play space, with the option to head outside and enjoy our outdoor play area during your visit.
Please note: all families must begin their visit indoors. Once your family heads outside to enjoy the outdoor play area, you will not be able to return to the indoor play space. This helps us keep the indoor area clean, safe, and comfortable for all families, especially on days when outdoor play may include dirt, mud, sensory play, or water play.
Once outside, you are still welcome to use our back bathroom and back lobby/cooling area anytime you need a break from the heat. Indoor play will simply no longer be available once you transition outdoors.
Water play will not be offered during every outdoor play session. When water play is available, we’ll share it on our weekly Instagram calendar with a splash symbol. This weekly calendar will also be saved to our story highlights for easy viewing.
This flexible summer format is something we’re trying on a trial basis over the next few weeks as we move between class series and see what works best for families during the warmer months.
Please note: Weekend Open Play is offered most Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00–11:00 AM for children ages 0–4. Because weekends are our highest-demand time for birthday parties, weekend Open Play is $25, which helps us continue offering this dedicated play time for families who rely on weekend availability.
